Surviving Rita!
01.21.06 (9:05 am) [edit]
|
Well, it's been a while and I've been busy. Late Sept. we were all scattered around our county helping Hurricane Katrina evacuees and guess what!! We are staring in the face of a deadly storm ourselves! Hurricane Rita. We were going to ride it out as they say. Well, We heard it was a Cat. 5 and headed straight for us. NOPE, not staying. I was frantically trying to get my husband on the cell. He had to go to work that morning and I was so afraid he was stuck in traffic and couldn't get to us. Well, he called and made it home by noon. I had been on the internet all morning with my scrapbooking buddies trying to decide what to do! SOOO, we packed and left. I packed all of my pictures and my boys got to pack 3 of their favorite outfits. No room for toys. We headed to MeMaws lakehouse! We got there in about normal timing. We brought both vehicles packed with food/clothes/pictures/bed ding! We watched the news 24 hours a day. SOmeone stayed up at all times watched it seemed like. Usually me. I couldn't sleep. Well, the closer to land the thing got, the closer to out town. ALTHOUGH we are 2 hours from the coast! Sure enough the blasted thing wiped us out. My husband snuck out and went home to check out our home. My Sister in law lost the roof to her home as did many people in our area did! He couldn't stand not knowing, so off he went! Our home was fine, everything outside was destroyed! The kids playhouse, the trampoline, my shed with teaching supplies, 30-40 trees on our 9.5 acres. It was aweful. You couldn't tell whose home was destroyed or not because of the massive amount of downed trees. Well, he came back to get us and brought us home 2 days later. We tried to stay, but I couldn't stand not having water or a phone. We brought a generator with us, so we had a little AC, but water was a must. I made ONE trip to the creek to fill up 3 -5 gallon containers with water to flush with and I said NO MORE!! I called my good friend in Houstona nd asked if we could stay with her till our water returned! She graciously agrred to let us come! Well, while there we filed with FEMA and our insurance! We came home 3 days later and stuck in out in the dark! Lanterns were part of our everyday life. I learned quickly how to use a chainsaw because husband went back to wrk 2 days after the storm. I didn't have a choice the trees HAD to move! SO, I got up and got after it! It wasn't too bad. I don't want to do it again, but I survuved. The phone came on about day 8 or so. The water was on about day 5 or 6..when we returned from Houston. We lost everything in our fridge and had packed our food and left it with the in-laws when we left. SO, to see the Army passing out food was an awsome site as NO stores were open. When they did open, they limited what you could buy and how many peopl in at a time. The lines were a mile long. no joke! SO, we ate MRE's and were glad to have them. No news on when the schools would open for the longest time. FINALLY I get a call from my principal that we are having a meeting. I got a sitter and headed up there. My lights were still out as many people's were. The schools did have lights, but there was a lot of cleaning going on! We decided on a date to return and that was that! I still had a job..LOL Our lights returned on day 14. 2 LONG weeks of candles, lanterns, 5 people in one room w/a window AC unit, ravioliis, washing clothes with the generator and hanging to dry, etc., etc. generator I returned to work and never heard from FEMA or my insurance company! I checked FEMA everyday and even went to the school to check on it. I got denied because the lady that filled out the paper checked that I did not evacuate and there was no undoing it! UUGG!! Oh well, not the end of the world. It was WEEKS, 2 months actually before I heard from my insurance guy. He finally came out and we did fairly well. I got aoyment for my shed filled with hundreds of ruined childrens books and a decent amout for our lost food etc. My kids are still traumatized. Everytime it thunders the 4 year old thnks the hurricane is coming again. Well, we all survided and clean up is almost done. The kids got a new swing set for Christmas and are happy with it. I just pray that we get to sit out the next one! WHEW, I am exhausted. LOL

Hurricane Katrina .... another happy ending!
09.13.05 (4:27 pm) [edit]
Today My husband was coming home from work and saw an older man walking. He stopped and talked to him and found out he was evacuated from the hurricane. (We live 5-6 hours from New Orleans.) He said someone brought him to a town in Louisiana and then he got another ride to Vidor, Texas. If you have ever heard of this town, it is horrible. It is an ALL white town and highly known for it. This gentleman was black. He said he slept under a bridge in Vidor and the cops found him, arrested him, and brought him to jail(kind of a relief to be out from under the bridge!). Anyway, they took his driver's liscense and gave him and "inmate" card...whatever that is(it doesn't sound good.)He was very upset about that.
Fast forward....he told my husband that he didn't want a shelter, couldn't handle crowds and children. He said he had friends and family in a town prob. 5 hours driving time from here. He was walking and had been for a while. He refused to eat as it would slow him down. He was determined to get to Longview to be with family!
SOOOOO, My husband brought him to our town.(he was an hour south of here when my husband saw him!). He offered him a burger at McDonald's and the man only wanted coffee! SO, he got him some coffee and gave him what little change he had let over. He asked the worker at McDonald's where could he go to see about getting a ride to a bus station (nearest is an hour away!). She said to go to the church around the corner. He took him there and the pastor told my husband he would take care of him!....He was reluctant to stay as he did NOT want to stay in a shelter. He wanted his family!
I called a city official and asked about him. He already had met him and taken him for new clothes. The church paid for him to stay in the local motel for the night and someone is bringing and paying for a bus ticket in the AM!!! He got a warm bath, fresh clothes, and a BED!!! Poor thing, he is 62 and just wants his family. I could not imagine being in his shoes, I am just glad my husband has a big enough heart to stop and check it out. I know it is scary these days, you just have to go with your gut instinct sometimes! Sometimes you never know when you are needed the most. Thank God for what you have and pray for those who have nothing!

Helping the survivors!
09.08.05 (6:59 am) [edit]
My friend Regina has been at the shelter all week on the interent. She has been locating family members for the evacuees! She has located I think 5 or six members. One being a 5 year old child that the mommy couldn't locate. (She had evacuated with her God Mother).
I just got an email in that she found another family member. He was not an hour away! Thank God. One more family reunited!
My church is housing 13 evacuees. They were very depressed and kind of kept to themselves. Our pastors wife started visiting with them yesterday and found out why. They were told by a "red cross helper" that they had a month, then had to find somewhere to live. How depressing! I don't think I could find a job and save for a place in a month, could you?? UUGG!!! Our pastors wife told them that it was so untrue. They can stay as long as they need and as long as we have enough supplies to help them. They were so relieved!
One lady is having a baby. She went yesterday to the hospital and they said she HAS to wait at least 2 more weeks as the babies lungs are yet to be fully developed. Poor thing. She looks miserable. THey had cots for them to sleep on. I cannot imagine sleeping on a cot while I am 8.5 months pregnant! I called and offered my queen size air mattress. It is better than my house bed!! Well, someone had brought a regular mattress and they put in on top of a couple of cots. I heard it was in bad shape. Haven't got word back as to if they need the air mattress. I am also getting a rocking chair for her to rock the baby(ME TOO!!!).
THen there is another girl that is pregnant. I haven't met her yet. I heard she is young. She is just 3 months, so not too uncomfortable just yet.
It is just so sad that these ladies have to go through such a joyous time in a shelter. At least they are in a smaller place with few people, and at a place that cares. They are being taken care of nicely. We had 2 come to church service last night and 1 wants to come Sunday(that we've been told)! I'm sure more will come. I pray they all will want to.
If you are reading this, please pray for these families. They are so wide spread and so many that no one REALLY knows how many families are around the country without homes NOW! Most can't locate family members and may never. It is a desperate, sad situation. Keep them in your prayers. Even with the news goes on, these families will still be in shelters and need your help. Just ask around to see what you can do to help. I can only volunteer my time and loan some of my things. When everyone pulls together, like we usually do in the US, then peace will follow!
Thank you again for reading and caring! Praise God for the generous and genuine people who care!!

My story of a Katrina blessing!
09.06.05 (4:29 pm) [edit]
OK, I am not a wealthy individual and cannot give thousands of dollars, so I wanted to help in the only way I can. I have a friend 2 hours from me that had been working a shelter and I told her I wanted to join in. I got off work Friday and drove a little over 2 hours to meet my friend. She has a travel trailer at her business that is around the corner from the shelter, so I thought I could stay the night and come home Sat. morning.
OK, I got there and my friend said the shelter she stayed at was packed and I wouldn't be able to do much, so we went to a different shelter she had heard about. It was a church. We walked in and I said..laughing..."I drove 2 hours to help out...what can I do?" Come to find out, I had met the pastor and his wife before. I had been to their coffee shop! Small world.
Well, there were not many people there. They had taken them to the Friday night ball game. He told me I could help rock the babies. SO, I tried. No one would let me have one. There were close to 15 under the age of 2, maybe more. I decided to sit in on their meeting and listen to how God was working in this shelter. Red Cross was NOT involved, they had a DR. come in a check everyone out and provide prescriptions. The warehouse was filling....purely from word of mouth!
I FINALLY got to hold a baby....and another and another!hehehe!!! I rocked babies till 11:30! WHEW!! The mommies and daddies all came home around 10:30. They all were coming to us and thanking us for helping with their children. It was great. Well, we got up the next morning and went to help serve breakfast. There were very few people awake. I got to visit with those who were awake and alert! OH, there is 94 people in the shelter. ALL RELATED!!! One big family! 77 are from one family and the rest are from another family and they all know each other!AMAZING!
Sat. morning turned into Sat afternoon. I ran some erands in Houston and rushed back. We got back to help with lunch. All there was to do was to visit with the evacuees and make them feel welcomed. So I did! EVERYONE was SOOOOO thrilled to be in Texas. Everyone I spoke with wants to stay in the area and find jobs etc. My friend spent the entire day on the computer searching for loved ones. She found 3 the last I heard. Severla people couldn't locate theier small children. She found a 5 year old girl. It was AWESOME! She was with her God Mother and safe in another state. They will reunite soon. The people were coming and talking to us one by one and telling us their story. Some were heart breaking and some were uplifting. ALL were glad to be here.
A few told us how they lived in sin and couldn't stand it any longer. They said the shelter was better then what most of them came out of. It was a step up for most of them. THey are ready to make a fresh start with no one to judge, no one knows where or what they came from. Just that they are here and ready to make a living! I helped in the warehouse Sat. evening. We were sorting supplies in there. I have never seen such generosity in all of my short life. People STEADILY coming in to ask what is needed and what can they do to help. Just like me, they did not belong to the church. Local companies were coming in one after the other to bring applications in. 5, I think, already found jobs and many more are looking.
We didn't want to leave Sat. (remember I was going to leave Sat afternoon)! We went back to the trailer at 11:30( they made us leave as they lock up at that time). Sunday morning we got up and went back to go to church with them. I walke in and immediately started crying! The fromt row was filled and it was 30 minutes till service began. The evacuees were all on the front row. I had to walk out and compose myself. I went back in and some of them had moved to the back(at least they stayed!!!!!)! Well, service began and it was AWESOME! He talked about unity and judgement. How judgement was about your life, not your color! It was really neat how he handled the service as it was a white community and the evacuees were all black. At the end of the service he did the invitation. He had whoever wanted Christ in their life to look at him while everyone's head was down. Then he had them stand. THEN he said if you are not ashamed to have Christ as your savior please remain standing while everyone lifts their heads. OH MY GOODNESS!!! About 20 of the evacuees were standing. He asked them to come to the front and they came forward. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was truly amazing. God sen them here for a reason. They did not know Jesus, and now they do. THey are on there way to a much better life than they ever imagined! God will lead them in the direction He wants them to go and not where "they" want to go! GOD IS AWESOME!
Well, I stayed about an hour after church and then needed to head home to my own children. It was very hard to leave. I had grown attached to them. I started learning their names and the children! So sad. BUT, everyone says this is such a tragedy! I disagree!! I think is the best thing that could have happened to these 94 people at Eagle Heights in Mont Belvieu, Texas!!!! They got 25 more in Sunday evening and God will begin working with them as well! What a blessing to have been a part of that.
We now have 13 at my own church, so I am helping there. I will always have a place in my heart for those in the shelter in Mont Belvieu! Cedric who can't find his girlfriend, Brittni who is pregnant with her first child and is searching for a doctor to take her, Lucille who was EVERYONE's grandmother!, baby micheal, and many many others I was blessed to meet! What an Awesome God and and a great world we live in. The world may be full of hate, but we didn't see that this weekend!
Well, thanks for reading if you made it this far! I just felt the need to share my weekend!! AND on top of all of those blessings. My friend Michelle is sending the tractor trailer loaded with supplies for the shelters in our county! It's that awesome! We are so excited.

It's been a while and VERY hectic...here we go!
07.08.05 (1:13 pm) [edit]
OK, the school year finally ended. We took the kids on a one day vacation and had a blast! 2 days after (which was 6 days after school let out) the engine light came on in my new car and I called Volkswagon. They sent a tow truck since I live 3 hours from the dealership. We signed it over and DH took me home. Didn't think much of it as it has happened to me before.
Well, the next day I called around 11am to check on it and they said they haven't seen my car...HUH??? OK, it's a big lot, I'll wait. I called the tow company and they assured me they left it in the lot. SO, I called an hour later I called again....still no car! I called back and forh for several hours. OK, I called everyone I knew and decided that my car was stolen. The deal was......the tow truck driver is saying that someone at the dealership told him to park the car "over there" and driver asked service guy if he shuld bring the keys back up and he swears the service guy told him "no, leaver them there, I'll be ther ein a minute." OK, DUH, noone is going to say that. BESIDES...he got NOONE TO SOGN THE TICKET!!! SO, the dumb butt left MY keys in MY new car and someone else got to take it for a nice drive.
Well, at 6 we left to Houston to report it. A 3 HOUR DRIVE! OK, on the way home we called our insurance company! They said they will file the claim and afterwards will sue the responsible party. OK, GREAT! We are in business. The adjuster told me they wait 10 days and then finish the claim. Made it sound like it wouldn't take very long, like 3 days maybe. SO, day 10 comes on a Sat and I go buy a new car. Same car, just a year newer.
Well, we got the car and everything seemed fine. TWO WEEKS LATER they find my stupid car and the insurance hadn't settled up with me. UUGG!! 2 days after they find it the insurance adjuster calls and gives me and offer. (3 thousand less than I owe!). UUGG!! I wouldn't have accepted that anyway! SO, now I have 2 cars, 2 notes and insurance to pay for both! CRAP!!! Why do I do this to myself!
Well, turns out there s not much damage to my car. Lots of small dings and scratches, just no crahses I guess! BUT the car wouldn't start. I had to go 3 hours there to give them my key as the jerk who stole it....locked it and kept my key. UUGG
They SMOKED in my car and took EVERYTHING out of the front. Didn't touch the trunk though! It was odd, someone else's license plate was under the back seat. I called the cops and they didn't seem to care! They never printed the car and I guess they let the thieves get ready to do it again!
JUSTICE SUCKS!
Anyway, so the insurance company is now doing a repair claim and they didn't even check ut the engine. It could be destroyed. It is a desiel car and VERY sensitive! I guess it's there prob!
I have someone interested in purchasing it when it gets fixed, so I think I'll be OK. If not, I guess I'll agressively try to sell it. It was a very good little car that got 46 MPG. Should sell quickly!
OK, that should do it for now. I guess I'll update after our court appearance with the tow truck company for ruining my summer!! Can you get money for loss of time??? UUGG What a wonderful summer!!!

It's been a while and I need to update
05.14.05 (12:37 pm) [edit]
Well, DS#3 is doing quite well with his feet. He is getting more and more independant every day! He figured out how to go potty by himself and gets around easily considering he can't walk. I am having a difficult time keeping still, so that his feet and rest. He really needs them up so the sweeling can subside. NOT HAPPENING!!! I think I am going to go get some new toys and maybe bribe him. UUUGGG!!!
Tuesday is our first check up! I pray I did everything right to help him and didn't cause set backs. I doubt my ability constantly! It's a pretty details ritual every evening to do his feet. OH, and my DH is leaving out of town on Monday at 3AM for a job. He worked nights for 4 months straight with NO days off! THEN, this week he had the entire week off...now out of town. Really...how much can one person handle?? My house is a disater zone. Maily because I'm chasing after and 3 yr old who is crawling ALL OVER THE PLACE!! Like a 9 month old on SPEED! He is absolutely pitiful! We are spoiling him rotten. I hope we don't regret it later on. I just feel the need to pamper him and keep him pain free!! Well, school is out in a few days. NINE more to be exact. I will be sooooo happy. I loved my little pre-k'ers! BUT, I love to sit at home and do nothing MORE!! My 12 yr old is having a VERY hard time a school. We can't seem to get his meds right. His principal decided he is going to get hurt by other children because he eggs them on so much! Now he is in In School Supension till school is out. I didn't have a problem with that!BUT, that STUPID excuse for a man in the room has decided DS#1 can't handle being around ANY kids and everytime another student is sent to ISS DS has to go in the hall for the rest of the day. I was LIVID when I found this out. I ca;;ed the principal and they cannot arrange a homebound situation for him. SOO, I told him I will be bringing a medical release for school for 2 weeks out. Hence the end of the year. It is quite obvious he is not wanted ad I am the type of mom that WILL NOT have my babies where they are not wanted! It's bad enough he can't get his meds right and is up and down up and down...now they have to throw him outside like a dog!! I WILL be calling the psychiatrist on Monday to get a note. Our reasoning will be that he is mentally unstable at this time. I sure hope I can pull this off. It breaks my heart to see my DS treated like that! I realize he irritates everyone. But my goodness, if I stuck every child that irritated me in the hall I would be a busy person. As teachers, we must GROW up and LEARN how to HELP the kids and figure out what works for BPOTH of you. He obviously doesn't give a rats ass!!! OK, I'm done with that!! I hope to start posting more often, right now I need to tend to DS#3's feet!! Wish me luck!!

My poor Baby #3
05.08.05 (5:13 pm) [edit]
My 3 1/2 year old was playing outside and 6 yr old had rode his little tractor over to the neighbors yard. SO, of course 3 yr old went to get it. They had been playing over there for weeks now, as they just cleared it and it was like a GIANT sandbox! Anyway, the neighbors had piled up all the limbs in a big pile earlier this week and burned them. We 3 yr old went over there he burned his feet, BOTh very badly!!! It was not smoking and he had no idea that it would still be smoldering! I had no idea really and NEVER THOUGHT to tell them that it would be!! He came screaming and running to me and it took a while to figure out what the problem was. I thought at first he got into oil, as it was black in spots...then I thought he cut it as skin was distorted. THEN, DH saw our other child in the yard and realized quickly what happened! I rushed him to the bathroom and put him...clothes and all in cold water. THen got an ice chest and filled it with epson salt and cold water. My mom came and we took him to the ER. I drove 90 all the way and ran every red light I came to. It was horrifying!!His little feet were so burned. 90 % of both feet up to his ankles. and 1/2 of his soles are burned. They are 1st and 2nd degree burns, mostly second. It was HORRIBLE what they had to do in the ER. I had given him tylenol 3 before we left, so it helped.SOME! He slept through the night and really hasn't complained other than the fact that he can't walk. We got a stroller and he likes that. We will go to our pedi. tomorrow to change the dressings and get antibiotics. I can't believe this happened. I could just DIE!!! All I could do was scream with him. I couldn't take the pain away from my baby!! It was the most horrifying thing I have EVER been through and I've been through some crap!! SO, mom's hug hug hug your babies and let them know you love them! My love couldn't take his pain away, if I could have taken the burns, I would have!!! Anyway, I prayed deeply for relief for him last night and I truly believe God came down and soothed him!! He has no been bothered today much! We went to the park for Mother's day with my sisters and mom and we brought a blanket for him and he actually wanted to swing, and slide. My 12 yo niece had him on her lap and we caught them coming down. He is crawling a little bit, not too much. THis AM he walked into my room from the living room. On his heels, of coursr..no burns there. UUUGGG!! Anyway, gotta run! Just wanted to share my story and ask for prayers!!! My 3 yr old needs them!!

OK, so I found a new doctor. Supposedly the best in the business wihtin a 200 mile radius! So, I call and yes they can fit me in next Tuesday. SO, I find out shortly there-after that they do not take any insurance. It's a cash only thing because of the hassles of dealing with the insurance companies. UUUGGG!!! $300.00 by Tuesday...anyone want to make donations??LOL JEEZE!! Not sure how I can get that together!I'll give it a try. On top of the $300, I will get docked $150 for missing work. CRAP! Will it ever end. I am about to loose my DH over this crap. I just don't know how much longer I can take it. The strass is eating me alive. THEN TODAY, the school calls...my 6yo DS hit another kid and they need someone to go pick him up. UUUGGG!! I am really wanting to run and hide in the mountains! So, I sent my MIL up there to get him. She gave the principal a piece of her mind....as she always does..LOL She's good at that. Well, I go to pick him up and FIL meets me with our cell phone bill. My DH thought it would be a great idea to join up with them and do a family share thing!! I begged him not to! Well, our bill is $257.00!!! HUH???? We've NEVER paid over $60.00 ...ever!!! I think I am going to have a nervous breakdown! I just can't take all of this. I am not built that way. I am already on Wellbutrin for anxiety...etc. Maybe I need to double up...LOL Well, I'm not sounding ver positive am I. So far...I HATE insurance companies, doctors, and phone companies!! I'm sure there is more!!!Well, I am going to get a beer!!! Send me good vibes so I don't freak out!!!

I HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES!!!
05.03.05 (8:55 am) [edit]
|
Yesterday was SUPPOSED to be a good day for us! It was DS#1's first appt with a new psychiatrist! Well, after school I get the kids and my mom and we drive an hour and a half to get there. Walk in to a filthy office with STRANGE people in it. The receptionist says that my insurance company told her I have not met my deductible and I will have to pay her $175.00!! WHAT?? It's May and I have 3 kids, one who has been hospitalized TWO TIMES and has had SURGERY!!! I think I have have MORE than met my stupid deductible!!! I HATE BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD!!!!!!! I tried to call them and they said they closed 15 mitutes ago. I am sure that they woman onthe phone had a sweet little computer sitting there that she couold have looked it up on and she chose to be sarcastic and not help!!! UUUGGG!!! My DS NEEDS to change his meds in the worst way. He is on the verge of geting kicked out of school! I am so mad it's not even funny at this point. I slammed the phone down and said WHATEVER and stormed out like a heathen! The glass door almost broke and I wouldn't have cared!!LOL OK, I have a bit of a temper!! SO, we then decided to go to a book store and then to get my eyebrows waxed and a haircut. I felt a little better. I got home and had a HUGS bowl of dewberry pie and ice cream...YEP that did the trick!LOL UUG, I hate days like that!! When I got home at 8:00 I had to make decorations for the baseball float for the parade. GREAT!! Well, DH helped me cut out all the baseballs and I stamped all the kids names on them...DONE! Now what?? I guess today I will call the insurance company and staighten everything out and then find a better doctor. One with a little compasion! I just LOVE this wonderful disease called BIPOLAR!!! I feel like I am always on a wild goose chase..Whether it's for doctors, or medicines, or research, or to find a discipline technique that will work...it's always something. OH, and my parents are already wore out by him. It's only been like 4-5 days TOPS! Looks like he'll be home in a few days! My mom is being totally manipulated by him. My dad sees it and can't stop it! VICIOUS!! This is a VICIOUS disease!!!! I hope tomorrow will be a little more bland!!

Great Day!
05.02.05 (5:45 am) [edit]
It was a very calm day today! For a mother with a bipolar child this is always good news. As you know my bipolar child has moved to his grandmothers. I have spoken to him a couple times throughout the weekend and he was still very angry, very mean sounding. Well, last night he called and sounded much better. Sounded like the child I have known! Not like a mean/angry child! Anyway, we got up yesterday and was late for church. Since this was to be our first visit to a new church this wasn't good. DH FLEW all the way there. We made it on time. I loved the little church. It was a very good sermon and very pleasant people. I plan on continuing there. We then went to see DH's Granny. We stopped and got McD's and went on to Granny's. We stayed way longer than we had planned. She is 86 and was so glad to have company. She hated to see us go, but it was DH's first day off in 4 months and he needed to do things around the house. When we got home, DH decided he wanted a dewberry pie. SO, my and the boys went an a berry hunt. DS#2 pooped out first and it left me and DS#3 to gather all the berries. It took about an hour to find 2 quarts of berries. I came in and washed them up and started cooking. OMGosh!!! This turned out SOOOO good! I wish the internet could let you taste!!LOL It turned out really great! Then I cooked supper. We all ate and the little ones got in the bath tub. When they finally got in the bed. Well, DS#3 decided to jomp on his bed AGAIN and broke it AGAIN!!! DH got on to him and fixed the bed. He hurt his feelings [pretty bad, maybe he will quit jumping on the bed! DS#1 called from his Granny's and wanted me to know he built a incubator to hatch eggs in. SEE, he didn't need me to buy one. He was in a very good mood. I was glad. He will ride the bus to our home tomorrow and then we will go see his new doctor. I am very excited about that. He was curious as to what we were doing and I think he misses me!!hehehe!! Then I went to scrapbook for a while and was actually very pleased with my work. I then went in with the boys and we all said our prayers. It was very sweet. DS#3 was repeating everything I said. Very cute! Then off to sleep! I also went to bed. DS slept on the couch watching movies. It was a very good day, no fighting, no running hiding from me, no major problems. Just a fun day of church, Granny and berry hunting! We'll call it a success! Till next time....

CRAWFISH
04.30.05 (7:02 pm) [edit]
Today was a little better than yesterday. We woke up to rain, therefore, NO ballgame! WOO HOO!! I got to sleep in .... a little bit anyway! The phone was ringing off the hook. The Fred 4-H was boiling crawfish, so we piddled around a bit till it was time to go get the crawfish. I didn't want to eat them there, so I brought a five gallon bucket with 2 trahbags in it to bring them home in. Everyone just thought that was the funniest thing!! I just wanted the crawfish!LOL The boys had a good time poking the live ones with a stick. It was rather funny.
Well, we brought them home and sat and peeled crawfish for 2 hours. DS#2 was collecting the heads and making a pile, then putting the pinchers in a pile. He thought he was a good collector. Well, it turned out I ate MOST of them and finished all 10 pounds off! I couldn't believe I ate so many. It's been a while since I had eaten good crawfish.
The boys played well today, no major fights. WHEW! What a relief! DS#1 called from Granny's and wanted me to bring him to buy him an incubator to hatch some chicken eggs. HUH??? He just got in a ton of trouble at school, had to leave our house to go to live at Granny's. I don't think so! Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't see that he should be rewarded for causing so much trouble. Anyway, it was actually a nice call. The last time I spoke with him he was LIVID that I send DH up to the school to get him instead of his Granny. Then I hear from DH. Remeber today was SUPPOSED to be MY day off!! I was SUPPOSED to get a haircut, and go to a friend's house. NOT, he sat on the stupid crane all day. But I guess for 30 bucks an hour, I would have done it too! He didn't get home till 7:00pm. Nothing major happened when he got home. Kind of a blah day except for the crawfish!! I just love those things!!
Well, tomorrow we will be visiting a new Church and Monday is DS#1's doctor appt with his new doctor. I hope it goes well. He REALLY needs to change some meds. He is still quite angry!
Until next time!

TGIF
04.29.05 (5:15 pm) [edit]
Last night was rough as my sinuses were acting up. I was up at midnight searching for drugs! Finally I found some sinus pills and I bit a chunk off of a sleeping pill, then off to neverland. AAAAAHHHHH. Of course I didn't want to get up this morning, then I remembered it was Friday!! TGIF!! WOO HOO!!! We got off to school. When I got there it was very chaotic. My student CG spoke with a man yesterday and the sub secretary assumed he was supposed to be there as he seemed professional and acted like he knew what he was doing. So they called her down and my aide realized they spoke with her alone. She informed me and I freaked! Well, today we informed the principal. RAT RACE TIME!! We were all panicking, trying to figure out who this guy was..was he CG's grandma's private investegator? ACK!! Well, turns out he was legit. It was a CPS man, no biggie! WHEW, big eye opener for our little school. Things went OK. At conference I tried to call a different doctor...Dr. Cookie that I heard was really good with kids. No luck, they are not open on Friday's. UUUGGG! I guess I'll keep the appt. I have on Monday and go from there! Then DH calls. He is going to Beaumont to get a 3-wheeler. I told him I wanted to go to Red Losbster. Since we haven't been anywhere in 4 months, he agreed. Well, he was to pick up both of the little kids and meet me at the school at 3:30. Well, I waited in my car and 3:30 came and went! I started in to call him at 3:45 and then noticed him driving up, doesn't it always happen like that?? Well, we head to Beaumont. I am dying again with my sinuses so we stop and I get some meds from Dollar General. Headed to the bank. Then to DH's work to dro pf his time sheet. He runs into the dispatch and finds out he has to work tomorrow..UUUGGG That was supposed to be my free day!!! :0( Life goes on! It is supposed to be a short job and then he will come home and I can go get my hair cut and go to LS's to scrapbook! Anyway, we went to check out his jobsite for tomorrow and then to Red Lobster. We both get the Ultimate Feast!! YUM! DS#3 gets crab legs and loved them. DS#2 got maccaroni and didn't eat it at all! Off to the house with no 3-wheeler. The guy never answered the ohone. Oh well!! Good news for me as I HATE them! Well, the sinus pills had kicked in by now and I fall over in the truck and snooze for a moment. Not too long with the boys fighting in the back. DH and I have a discussion about his weird names for things. He NEVER calls things by normal names. He finally admitted he makes up names for things. HOW SILLY!!! Like a firplace damper, he calls it a plume!! HUH??? So silly!! Anyway, not a very eventful day! Maybe tomorrow will be better. Thanks for reading!

Crazy Thursday!
04.28.05 (7:24 pm) [edit]
Well this is my first entry into my BLOG. I started the day OK. I am still in shock that I let DS#1 go live with my parents. I just couldn't handle the meanness and disrespectfullness anymore! I brought my digital camera to work today to show CK the snippit of DH riding our steer. I ended up showing EVERYONE!! It was hilarious. We all agreed I should send it in to funniest home videos. I think under "How NOT to be a cowboy!" It made my day to be able to laugh so much. C.K. asked me once what was wrong ater lunch today. I guess my sadness and stress is showing through. I try to hide it. I guess I'm not good at that. At recess time I spoke with the A/C man which is a pastor. I let him know we will probably be coming to his church this weekend. He was very inspiring to speak with. I was intrigued at his knowlege and outlook. I pray that I can be on his level to some degree some day! I then went in and searched the net for Christian sites and realized they were WAY above my head. This tells me I need to study more! I will work on that, too. Well, at my conference time I get a call from DS#1's school nurse. He is in In School Suspension and calling for her to come up there several times each day for vaseline for his lips and band aids because he is picking his insect bites.UUUGGG!!! She was very upset that he keeps buggin her over this. I told her to instruct his teacher NOT to call the nurse unless he has a broken bone or needs stitches! PERIOD! I called DH and sent him up there to discipline DS#1. He brought him home and then back to my parents. After the phone call I called the psychiatrists office I wanted to get him in to see and he said he will not see DS#1. SO, I got the phone book and called the only one in there that stated they were a Christian Doctor. He is over an hour away, but maybe he is the one that can help. We NEED to get this medicine issue under control! OK, appt set for Monday at 6:00pm. Good Deal. Came home and went to DS#3's t-ball game. I tried to stay focused on the game. He did good. I bribed with a trip to McD's and he loved that idea! So, he was very cautious in staying exactly where the coach put him. There IS a first time for everything! OK, we came home and the boys play outside and I come in to find something to cook for supper. They ran down the road when I went to look for them. I chased them home and them sent them to their room! That didn't last long. As soon as I was pre-occupied with cooking they headed out again. Just playing with tractors, no biggie. OK, supper is done. We come in to eat. I get to watching FRIENDS, my favorite show, and they SNEAK out the carport door. I went to get them and I hear them come in the back door. SO, I go in the front door. They hear ME and head out the carport door again. UUUGG this went on for SEVERAL minutes. I finally spotted them and chased them in their room! GROUNDED NOW!!! I made them eat all their food and bathe, then bed! ROUGH NIGHT. Then mom calls, no biggie. DS#1 wants to talk to me. He proceeds to chew me out for having DH go to the school. He thought Granny should have gone. WRONG!! He had already been told about bugging the nurse! He kept on for a minute and finally gave up and handed Granny the phone. I eplained bluntly that he cannot speak to me that way. I think she allows it!! NOT happening! This is why he is over there in the first place... DEFIANCE!!! Hopefully we can get something to help with that! In the meantime DH called and said this was his LAST night on the night shift!! WOOHOO!!! 4 months was long enough for me! WHEW this was an eventful day and now I'm going to bed!! Gotta get up and do it all over again!
